Asenheim - Wohin das Herz uns führt

Hello HellHounds and Today we are reviewing the latest album by Pagan/Eric Black Metal Band Asenheim.

Asenheim are a Pagan/Epic Black Metal Band Hailing from Germany. Originally formed in 2006 but back in 2004 operated under the name of ( Sins of Desire ).

Wohin das Herz uns Führt is Asenheim's latest release which features 7 tracks and has a total duration time of around 41 minutes and 39 seconds.

Wohin das Herz uns Führt was released on the 1st of November 2021.

So for me  Epic Black Metal is hit and miss unless pulled off correctly Asenheim are one of the finest examples of this.  

Right from the very start with intro track you are immediately hit with your typical lord of the rings Epic music , However with Asenheim with the mix of the epic fantasy music and the guitar riffs which asenheim play it certainly has a very etherial and Otherworldly feel to it. 

Wohin das Herz uns Führt is the perfect blend of fantastical epic fantasy elements mixed with diabolical Black Metal. 

For a lot of bands that try and mix Epic fantasy music with Metal especially Black Metal tend to over do it with the fantasy elements. 

Thankfully this time it is not the case.

Asenheim's absolute Ruthless Vocals and slow paced heavy riffs also do offer up a particularly dark atmosphere which in my opinion makes this album even better.

Overall the production on this album is brilliant not too raw but also not too fixed.

This album is definitely worth a listen. I'm gonna go back and listen to some of their other stuff because I enjoyed this album alot.
