Lamp Of Murmuur - Submission and Slavery

Hello HellHounds and Today we are reviewing the latest album by Raw Black Metal Band Lamp Of Murmuur.

Lamp Of Murmuur are a Raw Black Metal Band from Olympia,  Washington USA. Submission And Slavery is their 2nd Full Length Studio Album.
Submission And Slavery features 6 Tracks - Track Number 6 being a Cover.
Submission And Slavery has a total Duration of around 32 Minutes and 42 Seconds and was released on 16th September 2021.

Lamp Of Murmuur are an interesting blend and their album Submission And Slavery is no exception with a concoction fueled by influences stemming from early 80s Goth music movement to early 90s Punk influences mixed with Raw Black Metal Vocals and elements it is no wonder your in for a wild ride when you listen to this album or anything by Lamp Of Murmuur.

Here is the tracklist as follows :
1. Reduced To Submission And Slavery - such a killer track to open the album with. This song wastes no time and comes at you with such a Rawness it'll make you feel enshrouded by shadow.
2. Thine Be The Calvary - an instrumental track but helps bring the album all together and gives it that dark atmosphere that Lamp Of Murmuur do best.
3. Dominatrix's Call - this is the track where the most gothic influences other than track 6 are present , you can also here the Punk Influences slightly more in this track aswell.
4. Deformed Erotic Visage - this would be my favourite track on the album , one because of its title and two the raw Black Metal Vocals are absolutely filthy on this track and I love it.
5. Lustgate Toward Your Cruel Dominions - another instrumental track that helps set atmosphere.
6. As Evening Falls ( Christian Death Cover ) - this is their cover of the Christian Death Song As Evening Falls and gotta say although I'm not a fan of goth music or punk music for that matter  but they do a great job at this song.

If I have one critique of this album it would be that I really would've loved more of the Black Metal Elements to be present through out the album and sadly it just wasn't but aside from that its a decent album.

Submission And Slavery definitely makes for an interesting listen and if this album sounds like your kind of thing that its worth a listen.

Overall I did love the Raw Black Metal Elements that were there although they were pretty subtle , but I also do like the uniqueness of this album , however for me personally there was not enough Black Metal present so for this reason
I rate this album a 6.5/10.

This has been my review of Submission And Slavery by Lamp Of Murmuur.
Until Next Time HellHounds
