Rift - To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves
Hello HellHounds and Today we are reviewing the Debut album by one man Black metal project Rift.
Rift is a one man black metal project from East Corrimal , New South Wales, Australia.
Balam is the only memeber of this project and has been apart of several other projects including - Drowning The Light , Nazxul , Pestilential Shadows and many more.
To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves is the debut release from Rift it features 9 tracks and has a total duration of 51 minutes 03 seconds.
To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves was released on the 3rd of December 2021.
This album has a very thick and dense atmosphere that you could cut with a knife -picture this " your standing in a fog covered forest or valley and you can barely make out the shadows and Silhouettes of anything in front of you." That is the kind of atmosphere this album has.
That is not all though To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves also has certain elements within its sound that closly resemble New Era Mayhem. To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves is also steeped in Romanticism such as Vampires and lycanthropy and the added symphonic elements within this album really help paint that picture.
Balam's Vocals resemble the sounds you would hear coming from within a Black candlelit cathedral enshrouded in incense smoke. Balam's Vocals just absolutely briliant.
Here is the tracklist as follows :
1. The Coffins
2. Acolyte Of Worms
3. Night Glare
4. To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves
5. Innards of Malevolence
6. Graven Solace
7. Sermon of Blades
8. Posthumous Rapture
9. Moon.
My Favourite tracks as Follows :
2. Acolyte Of Worms
4. To Quench The Thirst Of Wolves
5. Innards of Malevolence
7. Sermon of Blades.
Overall this album makes for a fantastic listen and has something for people who love all different types of black metal. Truly worth a listen.
