Nott - XX

Hello HellHounds and Today we are reviewing the latest album by Italian Black Metal Band Nott.

Nott is a One Man Black Metal Band from Brescia Lombardy , Italy 

H. Archvile formed the Band in 2002.

Today we are diving in to their latest album XX

I will be sharing my opinions on the most important parts and giving an overall score for album from 0-10.

XX was released on September 22 2022 via record label Schierling KlangKunst.

XX contains 8 Tracks of absolute Vile Proportions. 

Here is the tracklist as follows :

1. Two decades of oblivion 

2. We are the virus

3. Naked apes 

4. Close in the fog

5. Conclave of fire

6. Earth's Black box

7.cullcidae cult

8. Twelve 

The first thing i want to mention about this album is that in my opinion the production quality is a little too clean and could be more distorted and raw to go with the feel of the album more.

The overall feel the album is very cold and vile which is why the production quality is a slight let down , however it does not ruin the album.

XX has lots of really good moments Archviles vocals are absolutely Vile in a good way. His voice spunds so cold and callous with his raspy screams i dare say Archviles vocals are some of the coldest and viliest i have heard.

Some interesting clean vocal moments too give this album a somewhat theatrical feel at certain moments. You can picture yourself sitting in a candelit theatre watching a sacrfice unfold.

Guitars and drums are fantastic considering this has all been done by one man. 

XX has a total run time of 42:36 which is a fairly descent length with the longest song being Conclave of Fire coming in at 8:17.

XX is definitely one of the best albums i have heard in 2022 so far.

Overall XX is a very well put together album and do recommend you listen to it. You can find Nott- XX over at Bandcamp. 

I rate XX a 8/10.
