Udegste - Zwartmagische brouwsels

Hello HellHounds and Today we are reviewing the Debut album by Atmospheric Black Metal Band Udegste.

Hailing from The Netherlands Udegste are a Two Man Black Metal project Consisting of Unknown and Forgotten from a previous project called Gärgäntuäh. Udegste are inspired by the oldschool 90's black metal scene.

Zwartmagische Brouwsels was released on March 25th 2022. Zwartmagische Brouwsels consists of 6 Tracks and runs at a feature length of around 40 minutes.

The album has a very consistent sound throughout with the Harmonic scale not differeing all too much which depending on how you look at it could be a good or a bad thing you can make your own mind up on that.

The first track on the album opens up with an intro with Vampiric Organs straight out of a Dracula film which then fades into the background but is still loud enough to be heard and gives the album a Very Dark Romantic feel. Coupled with Bleak gloomy sounding Guitar scales makes for a very interesting combination. 

Zwartmagische Brouwsels offers the listener an experience filled with atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife , Vampiric Grandeur,  90s inspired Black metal vocals and guitar riffs. 

There is some distorsion on the vocals to add to the atmosphere but not too much.

I really enjoyed listening to this one the combination of oldschool 90's black metal with a modern atmospheric twist on it really offered an interesting and fun listen. 

Forgottens vocals are on point and Unknowns instrumentations really just make the album flow so fluidly from one song to the next.
